This week, in my study of the book Sapiens, by Yuval Noah Harari, I learned even more about our incredible species and all of the little things that make us unique. One of the great advancements that has allowed our species to develop as fast and as quickly as we have we the agricultural revolution. It completely changed Human lifestyle, life span, and the first human cultures were created due to this great advancement. Before this time, man could only eat what he found or killed. With the invention of the plow and the domestication of plants and farm animals, man no longer had to search for their food. Instead, they could plant the food right where they lived. Less work, more efficiency, and overall more food. This radical change of lifestyle changed the entire course of human history.

All of the great companies, like apple, Facebook, and Ford motors to name a few, have also had a revolutionary impact on how we behave and on our way of life. I think that is key to creating a massively successful company. You have to “reinvent the wheel.” You have to make something that becomes so necessary to our day to day life that we couldn’t live without it. We certainly could not live without our grocery stores with a surplus of food thanks to the agricultural revolution thousands of years ago. We also could not live without our apple computers and smart phones. Most people could not go a day without checking social media. And almost every amirecian spends some portion of their day in a car. Make something so vital, so necessary that our species has to adapt and adopt it into our daily lives. Therein lies the secret to riches and fame. Revolution.
